Most people think of ocean waves as the ideal medium for riding surfboards. In reality stationary waves are much better suited for riding a surfboard…well this could be argued depending on whom you talk to. One thing that can NOT be argued is that when it comes to building waves for riding surfboards on….stationary waves ARE the ideal choice.
Because surfing has existed in the oceans, people think linear waves are the way to go, this is why the surf industry has tried in vain for close to 50 years to create perfect surf in wave-pools.
It is now clear to river surfers around the globe that the future of wave development is in “currents” of water….other wise known as river waves.
Because river surfers have an open mind and most of them have never surfed in the ocean, they have no issues about creating waves in this manner.
So now we look to the leaders in whitewater design to create the ideal surf machines of the future. These machines use no pumps, no real-state and no chlorine.

In my humble opinion, as a surfer with a life-long connection to the oceans and 16 years on rivers, McLaughlin Whitewater Design Group is on the cutting edge of this revolution.
They are innovators,
I am excited to see what the future has in store.
